The sprit is
cut to length to
fit your boat.
To calculate the
overall length
of the pole, you
start with the
distance you
want the sprit
to extend beyond
the bow,
typically
between 18-24"
for smaller
boats and 24-30"
for larger boats.
You then take that
number
and multiply
it by
3. This is
because the
sprit should be
supported by 2/3
of it's overall
length.
